OUR GUIDELINES:
- Your submission should be 1,000 words or less, not including the title. Submissions over 1,000 words will be disqualified.
- The live reading time is limited to 5–7 minutes. Please practice before submitting. The event will take place live at Porter Square Books: Boston Edition, located at 50 Liberty Drive in Boston’s Seaport.
- Submit your best writing to this Google Form.
- Only one submission per person, per event, please. If you submit more than one essay, we’ll only consider your first submission.
- We will use blind judging to ensure all submissions are given equal consideration in the first round. With that in mind, please remove your name and any identifying information from your submission. (We will match submissions to the writer by the essay’s title.)
- Label your document with a unique title, and do not include your name in the title or the body of the document.
- Attach your submission as a Word or PDF file. We can’t accept links to Google docs.
- Include a short bio (50 words maximum).
- We will notify accepted readers shortly after the submission deadline.
